Sparta found the going tough in their first competitive 11-a-side game against a good Pinhoe side, Pinhoe had the majority of the possession in the first half, but Sparta scored against the run of play when Fairall shot wasn't held by the home sides keeper and Northcott was there to score from close range. Second half Sparta started to pass the ball around abit which in turn freed up Kiff who hit a cracking curling shot passed the out stretch hand of the keeper. Pinhoe piled on the pressure then and eventually it told, when Sparta failed to clear a corner and Valley was there to hit a low drive passed Taylor, 10 mins later Pinhoe got their deserved equaliser when Valley scored there second with another good shot. A draw was a fair result in the end.
